RESOLUTION NO. 2022-06-01

ADOPTING AND RECOMMENDING THE COMPRHENSIVE PLAN FOR THE TOWN OF DUNKIRK, DANE COUNTY, WISCONSIN

 

 

            Whereas, the Town of Dunkirk adopted the Town of Dunkirk Comprehensive Plan in August 2006, and

 

            Whereas, the original map shows land that is desired for amendment, and

 

            Whereas, the Dunkirk Town Board wishes to amend the land use designation on specific parcels shown on Map for Future Land Use Plan: 2004 – 2024, and

 

            Whereas, the first step in the amendment process of the Comprehensive Plan is adoption of a resolution by the Town Board;

 

            Whereas, section 66.1001(4), Wisconsin Statutes, establishes the required procedure for a local government to adopt a comprehensive plan, and section 66.1001(2) identifies the required elements of a comprehensive plan; and

 

            Whereas, the Town of Dunkirk Plan Commission has the authority to recommend that the Town Board adopt a “comprehensive plan” under section 66.1001(4)(b); and

 

            Now, Therefore, the Town Board of the Town of Dunkirk in Dane County does hereby resolve and orders as follows:

 

1.       The 9.0 acres of future land use designation for parcel #026051107285957 is hereby updated for commercial.

2.       The 10.0 acres of future land use designation for parcel #026051107286400 is hereby updated for commercial.

3.       The 1.0 acres of future land use designation for parcel #026051107285859 is hereby updated for commercial.

4.       The future land use designation for parcel #026051107286750,  #026051107286858, and #026051107286956 is hereby updated for residential.

5.       The map also ‘excludes’ parcels which have been annexed to the City of Stoughton.

6.       This action will be effective after a public hearing is held, adjoining municipalities are notified, to reflect the desired changes.

 

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Plan Commission hereby recommends that, following a public hearing, the Town Board adopt an ordinance to constitute official Town approval of the Town of Dunkirk Comprehensive Plan as the Town’s comprehensive plan under section 66.1001, Wisconsin Statutes.
