Town Board Meeting Minutes

April 3, 2023

6:00 PM

Dunkirk Town Hall

654 County Highway N

Chairman Monsen called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.  Also present were Supervisor Ted Olson, Supervisor Jenks, John Bothum, Clerk Kathy Olson, and Treasurer Smithback. 

Discussion on Road bids: Compared bids between Tri-County, Payne & Dolan & Wolf Paving on the road work for Hanerville, Taylor & Hogie.  Was noted that Payne & Dolan was the lower bid. 

Compared bids between Scotts Construction & Fahrner for road work on Washington & Kaase.  Was noted that Fahrner was the lower bid.

Discussion on funding: Discussion on taking out a 350,000 loan to cover gap in funding for road work.  Supervisor Olson motioned to take out loan, seconded by Supervisor Jenks, approve 3-0.  Will make resolution at annual meeting.

Other discussions were how to reduce wear and tear on roadways, suggested was lower weight limits, have farmers need permit to run on.  Suggested to have a public meeting on suggestions.

  Adjournment:   No further business, Supervisor Olson motioned to close the meeting, Supervisor Jenks seconded, Meeting adjourned at 6:21 p.m.
