Town Hall

The Dunkirk Town Hall is located at 654 County Road N. Travel south of Highway 51 in Stoughton for 2.6 miles on County Road N.
The Town of Dunkirk is committed to making the Town Hall and its services accessible to everyone in our community. The Town Hall is wheelchair accessible and provides a handicapped voting machine at elections. We are continually looking for ways in which we may improve our services and welcome your comments.
The Town Hall office hours are Mondays 2:00-5:00 p.m.
Town Hall meeting room can be rented by Town of Dunkirk residents for $50 per event. The meeting room includes tables, folding chairs, a kitchenette and bathrooms. Contact us to make arrangements for renting our space.

Town Constable

Town Constable Greg Holte

The Town Constable, Greg Holte, is responsible for enforcing Town ordinances and assisting with animal control.

Additional Information

  • Dogs are not allowed to run at large.

  • Unlicensed vehicles, junk or waste may not be stored within public view.

  • Open burning of construction material, garbage, trash, or materials not readily combustible is prohibited.

  • Local ordinances are complaint driven.

Public Works

The Public Works Crew are responsible for maintaining Town roads, road signs, roadsides, parks and Town Hall.

Additional Information
Prior to placing a new culvert or driveway, the Public Works Department must be contacted to inspect, and Town permits must be completed.  To improve an existing driveway, it must first be inspected by the Public Works Department, the cost is $25.00.

Yard Waste Site

The Town of Dunkirk, in partnership with the City of Stoughton, uses the City of Stoughton Brush Site located at 1101 Collins Road. For rules, regulations and hours visit the City of Stoughton Public Works Site.

There is no cost to town residents. Questions about the brush site can be directed to the Town Clerk.

Senior Services

Dunkirk senior residents are encouraged to contact the Stoughton Senior Center. The Center offers a number of services including classes, assistance, meals, social and recreational opportunities.

Town Senior Case Manager
Murl MacKinnon is the Senior Case Manager for Dunkirk residents. As a case manager, Murl can provide help, information or referrals for food, housing, legal, financial, medical, and transportation services. Murl can be reached at (608)873-8585 or by email.

Youth Services

Dunkirk youth in grades 5 through 8 are encouraged to contact the Stoughton Youth Center. The Center offers regular activities such as sports, fun classes, homework tutoring, and snacks. Services are offered after school as well as on some non-school days.
